1. Who we are and what this covers

This website (careersycoaching.com) and everything sold on it are provided by Careersy Pty Ltd (ACN 701 729 295, ABN 36 701 729 295), trading as Careersy Coaching (“Careersy”, “we”, “us” or “our”). We are based in New South Wales, Australia.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we hold and share it, and the choices you have. It forms part of our Terms of Service at careersycoaching.com/terms-of-service and applies alongside our Refund Policy at careersycoaching.com/refund-policy.

We hold ourselves to the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) when handling your personal information, and we follow the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) for marketing emails.

Careersy AI (careersy.ai) is a separate product with its own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. This policy does not cover it.

On 25 August 2026 the Careersy Coaching business transferred from Eli Gunduz (sole trader, ABN 55 143 766 707) to Careersy Pty Ltd. Personal information collected before that date is now held by Careersy Pty Ltd under this policy, for the same purposes it was collected for.

2. What we collect

Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:

• Contact and account details: your name, email address, phone number, and the login details for your account on this site.

• Booking and payment details: the sessions you book, the products you buy, and payment records. Card details go directly to our payment provider (Stripe, via Kajabi). We never see or store your full card number.

• Coaching information: what you tell us about your career, goals, work history, job search, salary and employers, and the documents you give us, such as your resume, cover letters and LinkedIn profile. Notes we take during and after sessions.

• Session recordings: only if you agree to a session being recorded (section 6).

• Testimonials and feedback: what you tell us about our services, if you choose to give it (section 7).

• Messages: emails, forms and messages you send us, including support requests and replies to our newsletter.

• Website and technical information: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, how you arrived at the site and how you use it, collected through cookies and analytics tools (section 12).

We only collect what we need to run the business and coach you well. You can deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym where that is practical, for example when you read our content or ask a general question. We do need your real name and contact details to coach you, sell you something or send you a receipt.

3. Sensitive information

Some personal information gets extra protection under Australian law: information about your health or a disability, racial or ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, political opinions, union membership, or criminal record.

We do not ask for this, and you never need to share it to work with us. In coaching, people sometimes choose to tell us things in this category because they affect the job search, for example a health condition behind a career gap. If you do:

• We treat that as your agreement for us to note it, but only as far as it is needed for the coaching you have asked for.

• We use it only for that coaching. We do not use it for marketing, we do not share it with anyone, and we never include it in any insight or case study, even de-identified.

• You can tell us at any time not to write it down, or to delete what we have noted, and we will.

If you would rather a particular detail not be recorded at all, tell us at the start of the session.

We treat visa and immigration status with the same care. We do not give immigration advice and we do not collect visa details (see section 5 of our Terms).

4. How we collect it

• Directly from you, when you sign up, book a discovery call, buy a product, fill in a form, email us, or take part in coaching.

• Automatically, through cookies and analytics when you use the website (section 12).

• From our tools: our video and scheduling tools pass us your booking details, and our payment provider tells us whether a payment succeeded.

• From public sources you point us to, for example your LinkedIn profile when you ask us to review it.

We do not buy contact lists and we do not collect information about you from data brokers. If someone else gives us your details, for example an employer buying coaching for you, we will tell you where your information came from when we first contact you.

5. Why we use it

We use personal information to:

• deliver coaching sessions, reviews and digital products, and prepare for them;

• manage bookings, reminders, payments, receipts and refunds;

• answer your questions and provide support;

• send you our newsletter and updates about our services, if you have subscribed or bought from us (section 9);

• run and improve the website and our services, including understanding which content and products people find useful, and measure how our advertising performs;

• keep the records we are required to keep, for example for tax, and deal with any dispute;

• protect the security of our systems and prevent fraud.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share your information with other businesses for their own marketing.

6. Session recordings

We will only record a 1:1 session with your consent, given at the time. If you agree, the recording is for your reference and our quality review. Recordings are stored in your Kajabi client portal and in secure cloud storage, where each client has their own private folder. They are not shared with anyone else, and are kept for as long as your account is active, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. If you change your mind after a session, email us and we will delete the recording. You may not record a session without our consent.

7. Testimonials, case studies and insights

We only publish a testimonial with your explicit consent, and we publish it as given, apart from trimming for length, correcting typos, or removing details you ask us to. You can withdraw a testimonial at any time by emailing us, and we will remove it from our website and marketing materials within a reasonable time, usually within 2 business days.

We collect some testimonials through Testimonial.to, a third-party tool. What you submit there is held by Testimonial.to under its own privacy policy as well as by us.

We may use aggregated, de-identified insights from our work (for example, patterns we see across clients in data roles) in our content and marketing. We will only publish a case study or story that could identify you with your written consent (an email is fine).

8. Your documents

You keep ownership of your resume, LinkedIn profile and anything else you give us. We hold copies so we can work on them with you, in our email and Google Workspace storage. We keep them for 2 years after our work together ends so we can pick up where we left off if you come back, or delete them earlier if you ask. You are responsible for the accuracy of what is in them (section 3.5 of our Terms). We do not verify your qualifications or history, and we do not send your documents to employers or recruiters unless you ask us to in writing.

9. Marketing emails

If you subscribe to our newsletter (The Careersy Dispatch) or buy from us, we may email you our newsletter, career advice, and news about our services and products. We do this in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth):

• We only email you if you have subscribed, bought from us, or otherwise agreed to hear from us.

• Every marketing email identifies Careersy as the sender and has an unsubscribe link.

• Unsubscribing is free and needs no login. We act on it within 5 business days, usually straight away.

• We will still send non-marketing emails you need, such as booking confirmations, receipts and important notices about your purchase.

We do not send marketing SMS unless you have specifically asked for text reminders, and we do not give your details to other businesses for their marketing.

10. Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is needed to run the business. Service providers that help us operate may only use your information to provide their service to us, and each has committed under its contract with us to keep it confidential and secure:

We do not share your information with employers, recruiters or other clients unless you ask us to. We never pass on your details to a third party for a referral fee or commission.

Other than the providers above: regulators, courts and law enforcement, where the law requires or allows it; or a buyer or successor, if we sell or restructure the business. Your information would pass only to someone who takes on this policy's commitments, and we would tell you.

11. Overseas storage and transfers

Most of the tools we use are run from the United States, so your personal information is stored and processed there. Stripe may also process payment data in India. Before we use a provider we check its security practices and its contract terms for handling personal information, and we choose providers that commit in writing to confidentiality, security, and telling us promptly about any security incident. Some providers also use limited information for their own purposes, like fraud prevention and running their service, under their own privacy policies. Careersy stays responsible for how your information is handled wherever it is stored. If you want to know where a particular piece of your information is held, ask us.

12. Cookies and analytics

Our site runs on Kajabi, which sets cookies the site needs to work (login, checkout, remembering your preferences). We also use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site: pages visited, where visitors come from, what they click. We use this in aggregate and do not use it to identify you.

We run Google Ads on some pages, which uses a conversion-tracking cookie to measure ad performance — it tells us that an ad led to a booking or purchase, without identifying who you are to us beyond that.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site, like login and checkout, may not work without them. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and manage Google Ads personalisation at adssettings.google.com. We do not currently use a Meta/Facebook or LinkedIn pixel, and we do not track you across other websites beyond Google's advertising network.

13. How we keep it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Access to client records is limited to Eli, and anyone working directly for Careersy under confidentiality obligations. Our tools encrypt information in transit and at rest. We use strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication on all our business accounts, and we do not store card numbers. No online service is completely secure and we cannot guarantee it, but we will tell you if something goes wrong that affects you (section 15).

14. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. As a guide:

• Coaching records, notes and documents: 2 years after our work together ends.

• Session recordings: as long as your account is active (see section 6).

• Purchase and payment records: at least 5 years, as tax law requires.

• Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only a record that you opted out so we do not email you again.

• Website analytics: in line with Google Analytics' standard retention settings.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it.

15. If something goes wrong

If we become aware that personal information we hold has been lost, or accessed or disclosed without authorisation, we will assess it promptly and contain it. If it is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you what happened and what you can do about it, and we will notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where required or appropriate.

16. Access, correction and deletion

You can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;

• correct anything inaccurate, out of date or incomplete;

• delete your information, or stop using it for a particular purpose.

Email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for making a request; if a request is unusually large we may ask to agree a reasonable cost with you first. If we have to refuse part of a request, for example because the law requires us to keep a record, we will tell you why. You can also update your own details at any time by logging in to your account.

17. Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email [email protected] with “Privacy complaint” in the subject line and tell us what happened. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days, look into it, and give you a written response within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints.

18. Children

Our services are for working professionals and are not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

19. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will email current clients and subscribers before it takes effect.
